"A burned disc of four tunes is a showcase for this singer/songwriter's multidimensional talents. We're most impressed by the tight, crafty and adroitly performed "I Miss You" and "Hindsight." Both songs are professional-sounding tunes that augment the artist's assured voice with full arrange-ments — perfect stuff for film/TV licensing. Next time Chester sends out a sampler disc, though, she should put the spare, low-key and very demo-ish piano vocal "After All" at the end, not the beginning."

| Featured Artist of The Week
My first introduction to Melissa Chester and her music was two years ago through our mutual friend (and last week's Featured Artist), Sabrina Taylor. Sabrina invited me to meet up with her at Room 5 to see her perform along with some other artists she knew and thought I should check out.
It was Melissa's lyrics that really struck a chord with me and made me take notice. (It's no surprise that she's been recognized for her songwriting skills.) But it's not just the lyrics which make people pause and listen. She has this beautiful, crystal clear voice that permeates any space she's in. You can tell that her classical training has helped provide her with a solid foundation from which to draw on for any performance.
